Over the last couple of years it has become clear that there is a real need for a range of local therapeutic services. And indeed different types of support or healing.
With this in mind Hinckley Counselling is so pleased to be able to offer people an excellent choice of specialist help and different independent practitioners to work with.
On this page you will be introduced to:
Marina Broadley, practice owner, and the team of independent associates counsellors / therapists: Bally Bhathal , Fiona Burton and Rebecca Fairchild - all highly experienced professionals in their own field.
Whilst we all work with clients privately at Hinckley Counselling we are separate and independent from each other, each with our own professional body, insurances and so on.

Here is what Marina Broadley has to say:
Hello, I'm Marina Broadley, the practice owner. I provide confidential counselling and therapy for women who are experiencing personal, emotional, physical and relationship difficulties in their lives.
Alongside counselling I coach women in the practice of mindfulness. I trained to teach mindfulness for one reason: the whole thing personally resonated very deeply. I'm passionate about it. If this is something you are interested in then talk to me about coming for a private mindfulness session. These are for up to 2 women.
My first private counselling practice was formed about a 14 years ago. I have many years experience working as a professionally qualified psychodynamic counsellor and I've worked with literally thousands of private clients who have either come directly or been recommended.
Please note that the kind of counselling I provide is not the same as the kind offered at most doctor's surgeries. The kind of professional training I embarked upon took several years to complete. This was not a superficial, quick fix, 'counselling skills course'. It was much much more. A deeply complex psychological understanding of human beings, how we develop, who we become, how we cope, how we heal: attachments, loss, pain, recovery.
I mention this because as in many professions, there are different levels of training. Does this matter to you? Maybe, maybe not. What will always matter however, is the type of person the counsellor is - the type of personality, the humanity, the humility, the sensitivity, the capacity to understand you in a way that you've possibly never experienced. This is crucial.
There are many ways in which we can improve our lives, essentially our states-of-being in the world. Finding the right counsellor is one way. Mindfulness is another.

Here is what Fiona Burton has to say:
"Hello and welcome. Are you feeling alone, anxious, in despair....or just feeling stuck and don't know where to start? It may be hard for you to believe that things can be different.
I understand that considering counselling can be daunting, but it can also be life-changing. As a trained person-centred counsellor and psychotherapist, I believe that you are the expert in what is best for you and I can help you make the changes and shifts in behaviour that will help you feel less anxious and have more control in your life.
I help by focusing on the relationship between us, and bring the way you relate to yourself-and to others- to your awareness. I have experience of supporting people with a wide range of issues such as anxiety, betrayal, emotional abuse, depression, relationship issues and low self-esteem.
I have also had further training in and experience of supporting both men and women around pregnancy issues, particularly miscarriage, baby loss, infertility, post-natal anxiety and depression, and diagnosis of disability.
Sometimes just talking with someone in confidence, when you have been bottling things up for a long time, can be the first step on your journey to clarity, self-compassion and wellbeing. I treat people as I would wish myself or my loved ones to be treated.
I would like to offer a safe place to explore whatever is troubling you and offer a free 15 min telephone call to help you decide if we can work together.
